Dear Sir/Madam;
I seek your assistance for my family. This is not a plea for financial support.
My wife and mother of our four children has been denied an immigrant visa and may soon be required to
leave the country. The denial of her application by the US Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS)
was based on an inadvertent mistake she made when filling out the form. Rather than accept her
explanation and allow an amended application to be submitted, the USCIS has implied that she was
intentionally dishonest and, therefore, unfit for residence in this country.
At issue is her negative response to the application’s question of whether she had relatives in this
country. Believing this to mean immediate family members only, she did not identify an aunt that is here.
We have gone to great expense to pursue our case. We have appealed the decision three times,
incurring legal fees with each unsuccessful attempt. You are our last hope to keep this family intact.
Surely, I do not have to describe the importance of a wife’s support to her husband, or the likely result of
denying her love and nourishment to children during these formative years of their young lives. I would
only add that <wife’s name> means even more than that to our family.
As an immigrant family, beginning a new life in America is not easy. And we have certainly struggled to
acquire even the basic necessities. But we do so willingly, with aspirations of a better life, if not for us,
then as parents, for our children’s future. Without <wife’s name>, our hopes become despair, and our
will to succeed evaporates. Worse, our children’s souls become poisoned with hatred for their new
country, rather than filled with the admiration and jubilation that life in this free country should engender.
Please help us. You will not just be helping one person come to America, you will also be helping five
people in America who only seek to contribute in our small way to this great country.
May God Bless you.
Respectfully,
